random mumblings and too many pics

#Watching lightning from the basement window because it would be dumb to watch outside, detrimental to mother's health to watch upstairs, and unimaginable to not watch at all.

#Laughing so hard you forget why you are laughing and then laughing that you forgot.

#Living life to the fullest measure.

#Starting new adventures.

#Daydreaming about the future.

#Touching a friend on the shoulder when they are down and lifting the world to the sky.

#Thinking of a friend when I see the pic below. (No need to ask, right.)

#Wishing I could travel the world and knowing it will never happen.

#But that is where dreams come in.

#A life without music, is no life at all.

#And horses. Horses are good.

#Like, REALLY good.

#Being obsessed with music.

#Desperate for more books to read. GOOD books.

#Finding the key to unlocking the future: all in the hands of God.

#One day, it will hit you that the future will never come again and you have only the past to look to: bittersweet.

#Loving every moment as much as you can, because every moment is all you have.

#Looking up and thinking you just couldn't love life any more than you do.

#Starting out really cool and origonal and ending really lame and pathetic and not knowing how to change: so we'll leave it at that.

Dancing below Stars

Have you ever wanted to just go outside at night and hold up your hands to the deep velvet sky, twinkling with lustrous little diamond specs and sway to the sound of the music in your head?

There are few things more beautiful than a sky full of sparkling stars.

The glory of God's creation is beyond measure. And do you know, that all these millions of beautiful orbs were described as if an afterthought in the Bible?

"God made two great lights -- the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars."

Can you believe that so little attention was paid them? Think, all these marvelous, exquisite, delightful additions to the universe... And "He made them also".

And then think of how much the Bible expounds upon the creation of man.

"Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the bids of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures the move along the ground.' So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

How much God loves us. He spent so much thought and care into creating us. Each and every one of us is dear to Him. And when we disobeyed and ignored Him, He sent HIS OWN SON to this broken and vile world, to DIE on a wooden cross, bearing the sins of EVERY person, so that we, His people, might spend eternity with Him.

The stars never disobeyed Him. They never turned their backs on Him. They never dissapointed Him, angered him, let Him down, made Him ache with sorrow. Yet it is not the stars that He goes on and on about. It is not for the stars He so carefully planned out history. It is not the stars that He laid down His life for. It is not the stars that He is preparing a place so magnicifent we cannot even IMAGINE it.

It makes me think. HARD. He could have given up on us so many times. He had absolutely NO reason to care for us. No reason to keep forgiving us and keep answering our prayers and keep searching after our wayward and wicked hearts.

Yet He did. He does.

Because He LOVES us. US!!!!

And it reminds me of this:

The things we work the hardest for, are the things that we will love the most.

And that is a precious thought.

This is the verse that always comes to mind when I contemplate His ways:

"For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that He may have mercy on them all.

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and
knowledge of God!
How unsearchable His judgments,
and His paths beyond tracing out!
"Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been His counselor?"
"Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?"
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all
things.
To Him be the glory forever! Amen."
                                                              Romans 11:32-36

It would be so easy to give up on life. Let's face it. Its not easy. But God created us to glorify Him. And in that we can have hope. In Him we can find the joy to live on. In Him, we can always say, "Life is good." In Him, we can always find the strength to admit yesterday, face at tomorrow, and enjoy today.

And that's what I think about when I go outside at night and dance under the stars.

(I took this pic of the moon a couple weeks ago. Isn't it extrodinary!)

What do you think?

Give this a title:

The clock on the mantle ticked, endless, monotonous. Far in the distance, the sound of bells clanging together in disjointed harmony whispered through the dead room. A lone narcissus, withered and brown, lay upon the otherwise bare table. And the sound of weeping filled the emptiness.

And then a sound, creeping, timid, like the broken melody of a lark in the early morning, a song of rejoicing, began to steal through the rooms. The grey mantle lifted. A gentle breeze sifted through the window panes, brushing against the soft petals of the lonely flower. And peace to satisfy the soul settled over the place.

Because I can't think of one. That was an absolutely pointless little two paragraphes I just typed for fun and now I don't know what to do with. So you help me. What do you think I should do with 'em?

Oh! WOW!!!!

I just so totally discovered what picmonkey can do. And I am having a blast!!!!

Resting and recuperating from a chigger attack (I am allergic to chiggers, the one and only thing in the world), and all of a sudden my day turned glorious.

So of course I am going to post some pics that I have been messing around with! :D

Oh yes, Sunday night Abrienne asked to put makeup on me.
I got Daddy's approval so I let her.
This is my eye...

This was SO MUCH FUN! If you were not here the day we did this....you missed out. Becuase, talker as I am, I cannot tell you in words what a delightful evening that was!

<3 One of my senior pics

LOL fun!!!

Beautiful Brisa!!!

Ok, I just waisted an hour, but I think it was worth it.

Anyhow, I think I will work on my book. I just realized I never did post any of it on here. Probably just as well. I don't think anyone but three people read my blog!!!! :D

So off I go for now!!!! <3

mixed up

So....

I accidentally told everyone I would be going to music camp this week.

I am NOT.

It is next week.

Now you all know.

Saturday was SOOOO much fun!

We had my Daddy's ninth graders out for a swim.

Here are a couple pics.

Before swimming!

In the pool.

We had such a blast.

We also went out of the pond with them and rowed around on the canoe.

Yesterday after church Enen and I also went and rowed on the pond.

And I came home with chiggers.

NOT FUN!

I react badly to them.

I am not allergic to almost anything.

But chiggers.

:P :P :P

Anyway, I think I will live.

And.........

Today Brisa is getting her ears pierced!!!!

We are going to the mall in a bit and going to get it done.

I will DEFINITELY post pics later!

And, just so you all know, I CAN'T WAIT until Music Camp.

It is going to be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing.

the new boy in town

ahem. That's me.

Yes, unofficially, I am now Daddy's helper. (since Thadden is gone)

Btw, Thadden went to Canada.

I am SUPER jealous.

And EXTREMELY glad I stayed behind.

I wouldn't have traded today for anything.

Theological discussions while building fences.

Can't get better than that!!!! <3

We are trying to keep our cows from breaking into the yard.

They think it is their own special grazing plot.

We don't.

And I had a major break through on Chapter 8 of my book today.

Hurrah!

Here are some cute pics for randomness's sake.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

So me its not even funny.

I took this awesome pic myself.
With my unbelievable camera.........that died.

Me. No more said.

No need to explain this pic. Its just LOVE. <3 <3

Hehe. Ok, signing off for now.

:D

Changing the World

Perhaps that is an intimidating title. Yet it is something I have been praying about for a long time. I don't know what my life is going to bring, but one thing I know is somehow, for God, I intend to change this world. It is a daunting task. But it is worth it. I don't know very many other 18 year olds who have heard God calling them to that. But I am ready for whatever He has in store for me. God has a great sense of humor. I don't know what happened or how this jumped into my mind, but somehow, I know He has put it here for a reason. Now I just have to wait and see what He has planned. I can't wait.

Last Friday we went bowling again. Twas fantabulous. Except, I don't know if anyone else noticed, but I was not quite myself. It was really strange. I just didn't feel as bubbly as usual. And I forgot to grab our camera...again. Some of the others had their camera's, but I don't have any pics from them. Except one...

I'm not exactly sure how it started, but all of us kids there who had facebooks decided to take crazy pics with NN's hippie headband which I bought her earlier that day (we went on a sister date!!!) and we are going to post them on FB as our profile pics! I am determined to get over my fear of cameras. Its like jumping off the diving board. You just got to throw yourself into it, take the leap, soar over the water, and feel the freedom wash over you when you slither into the water. I hate having my picture taken. If you would notice, most pictures anyone takes in a group, I will not be found in. :P

This morning I found a possum in the chick coup. It was rather devastating. Only four chicks escaped. Daddy and I killed him with a ninja sword. Seriously. And he was U-G-L-Y.

Last night we went to some friend's house and had a blast!!!! We played volleyball (speed), ultimate frisbee (not my fav, but its good), and badminton. I didn't do too good because I have a fractured toe (officially figured out what is wrong with it...). After that we went down to a creek bed, had a campfire, prayed and sang songs. It was heavenly.

Now I am trying to finish up a couple of books on my reading list, edit another chapter of my book for Daddy to check over, and finish a drawing.

Aren't the glory's of God amazing. How He must enjoy painting pictures like this one. His magnificence is beyond words.

Is tired...

And cannot wait for bed.

Here is my reading list right now:

Understanding The Times, by David A. Noebel
Constitution: State of Missouri, presented by Robin Carnahan, Secretary of State (2005)
Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, by Jim Cymbala -- YES, we are distantly related. Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiistaaaaaaaaaaaaaaantlyyyyyyyyyyy.
The Twelve Trademarks of GREAT Literature, by J.F. Baldwin
The 7 Laws of The Teacher, by Dr. Howard G. Hendricks
Philippians

I'm getting a historical novel in the mail this week that I haven't read and I am soooooo excited about getting it! :D

There are a couple more books I'm almost done with so they don't count. And I find myself constantly flipping through several of my favorites, so they don't count either.

I like to read. I LOVE to read. I am more than a bookworm.

Yep, that is me. The hard thing is finding a book I don't like. (Aside from morality issues, of course.)
I have to go....
We are going to watch some of the OLD Ronald Howards Sherlock Holmes movies. They are great! From the fifties, I think. I'll have to check and let you know. I don't like saying things that aren't true, so I'll make sure.

See ya!

Btw, thanks for the comments. I am enjoying them!!! <3

Hmmmm....

I'm curious about how many of the pageviews my dashboard tells me I have are real....

It is interesting about the things we care about in life.

Things like how we look.

What we do.

Who we impress.

What we like.

What we want to be known for.

Who we love. (Sometimes randomly. Or am I the only one who does that...)

What we hate.

Where we want to go.

What we *want to be when we grow up*.

Sometimes I can't find the words for it all. Life can be downright confusing.

Most of the time, the thing I want most in the world, is the hardest possible thing to get.

And I don't know why.

Or why I want it.

I wonder what God is doing in my life.

What will the years bring?

I guess only time will tell.
