Round of Laughs!

It's time for a picture day!!!!

I was digging through a stack of old pictures and found a few that just made me bawl with laughter. I thought I would share them with you guys. ;)

This is Thadden and I when we were {probably} 3 and 4. Clearly, we were in trouble. What for, ahem, I have no recollection. ;)

This is how most of our family portraits end up. ;)

Itty-bitty me. Can anyone guess why I like this pic so much or why it made me laugh? {Hint: turn your computer upside-down...}

Funny faces!!!!

Haha...just laugh.

So pretty!

Took this pic a while back and edited it for fun!!! :D

We got more snow!!!!!!! Tizona is such a happy girl!!! :D

I finally finished this drawing. It doesn't really look a thing like her, but it is 100% freehand, so I'm sorta happy with it. :D The picture I took of it is pretty bad quality though. It is a bit darker and detailed... :(

My beautiful girls!!!!!

Silver! {Very muddy Silver...}

Tizonababe has such gorgeous smile!

So, what is the appropriate response when your siblings dress your wall ornament in underwear?

The snow meant I couldn't go to work. My Daddy got the car stuck in the driveway so he had to take the vehicle I normally drive into his work. It also meant I didn't get to go to performance in Sprgfld I was really hoping to go to!!

But, it was beautiful!

Oh! The best way to be woken up in the morning is to have your Mum, sisters, and little brother jump on you shouting. :D

I love my life so much. I am super blessed. I know exactly what I am going to do with my life. I have a WONDERFUL family, great friends, and a super CUTE business. {I mean, seriously, who has the privilege of calling their BUSINESS cute!!!!!} God loves me so much and He shows it in sooo many ways! Things, seemingly random, just happen, at the right moment, in just the right way, right when I don't expect it! In fact, I've noticed almost all of the things God does are when I don't expect them. I've started not expecting things so I can be so amazed when God acts! It's awesome!!!!! :D

Anyhow, hope you all have a great rest of the day and enjoyed those pics!! :D

To My Friends

This post is dedicated to my best friends.

Good friends aren't a rare as I used to find them...

Or, as someone very like me once said, "Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think."

I have been so blessed by God this last year. For the first time ever, I got to say I had real friends. REAL friends.

Tears come to my eyes.

I want to whisper it. I want to scream it!

{Except I hate to fist punch}

They make me laugh, smile, cry. They understand me. They love me. When I mess up, they forgive me. They love God, too. And that is the most important.

I just feel the need to brag about my friends right now.

Seriously, what is life without your important people?

Thank goodness! I know so many times when I have done {ahem, things I will not mention} with friends!!!!

This one is for Treskie!

I remember when I would pray to God every day for a real friend. Someone to talk to, to love. Someone who would WANT to spend time with me and love me. Someone who loved Him and wanted to talk about the things He was doing in their life and hear what He has done in mine. I prayed for so many years.

And then, all of a sudden, He answered.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Thank you, Grace!

Thank you, Jonnah!

Thank you, Cait!

Thank you, Rachel!

Thank you, Joanna!

Thank you, Alejandra!

Thank you, all my dear friends with no blogs!!!!!!

Wow! I am loved!

I have REAL friends.

Wow.

And I believe this with all my heart!!!

For Cait. ;)

I am sarcastic to my best friends {and no one else}. It is my thing with them. So, if I have been sarcastic with you, beware. You are one of my best friends. ;}

That one was just for fun. ;)

So I am going to do another one.

And because you can never have too much fun...

And, at last, I just can't resist telling you all about the best friend of all!!! Jesus! Yep. He's my bestie. Without Him...I wouldn't even be alive. Literally! I am sooo thankful for Him and for all He has done for me and for everything He will ever do for me!!! Wow. I am sooo blessed to know my Savior and have a personal relationship with Him. He guides my every step, every day, every moment. I have no fear because He is at my side and does sooo much for me. He is the best.

Ok.

Here's an acronym for you.

And now I will close, because you seriously don't want me to gush on anymore. ~_*

Hold Fast

My heart longs for many things. Most of them I keep hidden away out of a desire to keep them sacred, and safe.

I have a heart for the broken. I want to rescue the lost. I want to treasure the forsaken.

And I find myself held back by so many things.

People don't understand. People look at the outward. They look at behaviors, faces, cloths... they don't see the broken souls beneath awkward façades. They overlook, I can only hope unintentionally, the screaming hearts, begging for acceptance and a simple act of love.

I want to bring that love.

It's a soft spot of mine. I've always liked the misfortunates. The misfits and needy. The little one surrounded by big ones.

Because I want to give them hope. I want to make them smile and see the good in the world. I want them to see that not everyone is indifferent. And even though they pretend they are fine, I can see the hurt, and I care.

And then my heart breaks because I cannot do it. I cannot bear the weight for everyone. I cannot love every lost stranger. I cannot comfort every silent cry.

I am a dreamer. I imagine the world as it was meant to be: perfect. With God walking among us and trees green and blossoms floating from the sky and birds perched on fingertips. And I can't wait until heaven.

I don't mean that morbidly. Seriously, I just cannot wait to be through. To see God face to face. To know Him and talk to Him and be with Him. And to know only love. See only peace. Hear only song.

It will be paradise. Utopia. My Neverland.

Heaven.

So for now I listen to the cries. I glance around at the faces. And I send a prayer after each one, hoping it will not be lost. God loves us all, even the lowest, the least loved.

Sometimes, it is not those that seem to need love, that seem to be lost, that seem to be frayed at the edges, that need love the most. Sometimes it's the girl with the deepest dimples on her face, the boy who could chatter the hind leg off a mule, the kid with the biggest grin...

Sometimes they just need a soft hand, someone to truly listen, someone to care. Because they are hiding the hurt, the insecurity, the pain, deep in their spirit.

I want to care.

I just don't know how.

So that's why I pray. And hold fast to a promise.

"I will never leave you nor forsake you."

Songs That I Love

So I am always rambling on about how much I love music. And yet I have never shared with you what kind of music I like. What songs touch me deep down. Why they speak to me in soft whispers.

My sister Brisa says I like “sad” songs. I preferred to always call them peaceful.

Friday my friend Jonnah accidentally pegged a better word for it: mellow. ;) Thanks Jonni!

So here is a list of my favorite songs, mellow, one and all. ~_*

Don’t Give Up {You Are Loved} ~ Josh Groban

Instrument of Peace ~ Canadian Tenors

Dark Waltz ~ Hayley Westenra

{I have no idea if this video is good...I just know the song is. :D}

When You Believe ~ Prince of Egypt Soundtrack

The Awakening ~ Sing His Praises Choir {I’m singing in it!!!}

I Only Know How To Love ~ Canadian Tenors

{I would so live in this house.}

So She Dances ~ Josh Groban

Walking in the Air ~ Chloe Agnew

{Once again, I haven't a clue about this video...so be careful and maybe just listen.}

I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You ~ The Mask of Zorro Sountrack

{One of my all time favorite songs. Pretty sure this will be played at my wedding.}

‘Til I Hear You Sing ~ Ramin Karimloo

Empty Chairs and Empty Tables ~ Eddie Redmayne

{This song never fails to make to make me cry.}

And I am a big fan of all things soundtrack, especially if they are minor {sad… ;)}

I could listen to these songs over and over and over. In fact, I do. :D

Well, there. Now you have a list of my favorite songs. Not sure what you plan on doing with it, but you have it nonetheless! :D

More news on life coming later.....

Do you want to know? {probably not}

Charley over at The Leaning Tower of Plot tagged me this week! I am excited because I haven't done a blog award in some time, and I always enjoy them...

Rules
  • Acknowledge the person who passed the award to you and provide their link.
  • Include the award logo on your blog.
  • Answer the ten questions posted below.
  • Make up your own ten questions for the next people.
  • Nominate blogs and link those you have especially enjoyed reading. The number you can select is up to you.
  • Notify each individual that you have nominated them

1) As a child, what was your biggest fear? How did you overcome it, or does it still haunt you?

Perhaps I am weird, but I never really had any fears. Probably the biggest thing that scared me was when 9/11 struck and I was afraid an airplane was going to come crashing through my own roof. But I have a very wise Daddy who told me that God was bigger than my fear and He had a purpose for me. And even if that included being smashed by an airplane, it was ok. Yeah, at first I was like, "whaaa..." And then I got it. I think that is part of why I don't fear things. Because I know God is in control.

2) What is the first thing that springs to mind when I say "potato"?

The potato famine that happened in Ireland during the 1800's. Such a terrible, sad time. I read a book about it. Twas awful. I love potato's. And every time I eat one I think about that... Pretty weird? Yeah. But most of my life is linked to history somehow... ;) Besides, that was a lot cooler than the second thing that popped into my mind, which was soup. Eh he...

3) Take a trip to Australia, or win a million pounds?

You had to pick Australia, didn't you. But for the record, I would say the million pounds. And use it to go to Australia. {Ha, beat you on that one. ;)} One of my biggest dreams is to travel the world. I don't foresee it happening....but you never know. If I happened to win a million pounds.....

4) What was the first book that made you cry?

Cry? Me? Oh, yeah, I do have lacrimal glands... I'm going to admit that I hate it when people see me cry. So I physically weep very rarely. Now my heart....that is a different story. To be honest, the only book that has ever made me cry real tears is the Bible.

5) What is your opinion on pigeons?

They are cute and white. For some reason, I always think of The Mask of Zorro when I hear the word pigeon and that makes me sad because the pigeon becomes dinner. Besides, I like doves better.

6) Would YOU trust anyone who told you that you were destined to go on a great quest and save the world from destruction?

That would depend entirely on who this person was. A random stranger? You never know. My best friends? If they were at my side, I might just believe it. But I am way too game and conquer the world type. So yeah, I might just do it as a dare...and enjoy it at that...

7) If you're leaving home for a long period, what is the one item you ALWAYS take with you?

Believe it or not, but I have only "left home" for a "long period" of time once in the last seven years {not counting the time I moved 2000 miles cause all my stuff came along...well, almost all my stuff. We left my favorite desk behind and I am still sad about that...}. At that point, I did not own pretty much anything of value. So, if I were to imagine leaving home for a long period of time {not too hard to do for the girl who wants to travel the world} I would say two things {I know, I'm being rebellious...}. My laptop and my hairbrush.

8) Have you ever made a wish on a shooting star? What for? (Or, what would you wish for, should you spot one?)

Once. And only once. Because I felt utterly ridiculous. It was deep in the heart of Eastern Oregon. I was sunstone hunting with my Grandpa {who was co-owner of a mine} and Daddy. I would have been 11, I think. And I wished to find a really pretty stone {which I did, btw}.
And what would I wish for if I saw one right now? That is a secret. -_* {Hey, did anyone see the meteor shower December 14th? That was the night the Hobbit came out and we drove home at 4:00 am and it was amazing because there were "shooting stars" left and right. I didn't make any wishes though because pretty much most of my dreams had come true. lol...

9) Name the first character you ever considered your favourite in a book, film, or TV series.

Really? You want the honest answer?

Sheesh, this will be embarrassing.

For a book: I am thinking back as far as my mind can go. I started reading at three...really reading. I had many "favorite" characters. But I had this particular series that I loved about a girl who lived during the American Civil War called Felicity...{and then whatever that particular book was about}. There were six of them, and she was a tomboy, loved horses, and had a great imagination. I read those when I was six {I still remember because we were moving from one house to another and were living with my Grandma and Grandpa and they laughed at me for wanting to read my books instead of watch a movie... ;)}.

From a film: I am honestly going to have to say Larry the Cucumber from Veggitales. Yep, cute. :P I know. A character that would duel for favorite though would be Cyrus from Storykeepers. My movie watching spectra was very limited when I was a child. Very.

TV series: Does Elmo count? JK!! I actually did not watch many or any TV series until I was much older. But one of the first ones I can remember having as a favorite is Ellie from The Beverly Hillbillies. She is fun. And quite a bit like me. ;) {And for the record, I DO NOT like Elmo.}

10) Tell us a question you asked that you wished you'd never learned the answer to, but not the answer you received.

Oh dear.... Oh dear.... What if I say there has never been a question I have regretted asking? I like to learn knew things and I like honest answers, even if either or both are painful things. I cannot for the life of me think of something that was unreceived...

And a bonus one: What is the purpose of a rubber duck?

To sing adorable songs to, of course! And besides, we all need a buddy in the tub. I had two or three when I was little. They had a grand time racing around my bubble tracks. My favorite ducky always one.

So there are those. Awesome questions, Charley! Super fun. I like how original and imaginative they were.

Now for my own questions:

1. If you could pick a culture to come from other than our current one, what would it be?
2. What was the last book you read?
3. When you think of music, what is the first song that pops into your head. Can you explain why it is that one?
4. Do you remember the first time you met your best friend{s}.
5. What are rhetorical questions?
6. This is not a rhetorical question.
7.  When you think about the future, where do you imagine yourself being longterm?
8. Seriously, are you ticklish?
9. What comes to mind when you hear the word...pirates?
10. How {and when} did you give your life to Jesus?

Well, there is that. Now for the tagged peoples.

Cait and Mime, from Notebook Sisters {I know you were also tagged in Charley's post, but you haven't done it yet, so perhaps you can combine the two, eh?}

In other notes, yesterday was the super bowl! The only day of the year the whole world watches 22 men fight on a field over a brown piece of leather. It was pretty awesome. I used to be into football tons. When we moved from Oregon I lost interest, mostly because I no longer had friends interested or the ability to watch the games. Yesterday we went over to some friends and watched it with them. It was great! And I fulfilled a childhood dream. I had colorful goldfish. Oh yeah!

The end.
