I Want...

 

It takes only a second for me to laugh at myself.

All these promises. So many hopes and dreams. Hmmm...

Right...

I've discovered I'm mortal. No matter how much I try, things don't always end up the way I want them to. But I've discovered something else.

That's ok!

I was thinking the other day about how many things I long to do with myself. I wish I could go see the world. I want to be a deep sea diver. I want to explore the Himalayas. I want to see all the old places, the new places, every place.  I want to draw. I want to make a difference. I want to study ancient cultures, understand who they were and what they did and WHY? I want to marry. I want to be a treasure hunter. I want to change the world. I want to serve my Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul and strength and mind. I want to see Northern Lights. I want to raise children. I want to write. I want to run a marathon. I want to sing. I want to marry the president. I want to take a safari in Africa. I want to see the old Incan and Mayan temples in South and Central America. I want to be an archeologist. I want to be a teacher. I want to help people in need.........

Ok, I think you are beginning to get the picture.

But I only have one life.

And it is dedicated to God.

Mommy says I'm an over achiever. Daddy says I have passion. I guess I'm just ambitious. And a dreamer. But all I know is I want something, something more, something great, from this life.

And I haven't found it yet.

But I know I will.

In other news, I was presented the Liebster Award a while back, never got around to it, so I'll finish it now!

There's lots of fancy rules, but most of these awards are pretty repetitive and long-winded {plus, I certainly gave 11 random facts about me up there^^}. So I'm just going to answer the questions my friend Cat from The World Crafter gave me.

1) What fandom do you "belong" to?

Yeesh! Right off the bat!?

Well, you probably won't like this.

I don't "fangirl".

NOT because I don't appreciate great films, superb acting, or handsome/beautiful faces.

I don't fangirl because I feel there is a principal missing there. Just think for a second. What is all this raving about? The screaming, passion, ogling? It's almost like a sort of worship.

Ok, perhaps that's a bit strong. But you can probably get my drift. Fangirling is a way for girls to "innocently" fill their minds with "hot" men and other realities. They can waste spend their time devouring their dreams of meeting so-and-so or seeing such-and-such episode. Life is meant for so much more!

There is only one man I will ever "fangirl" about.

And that's Jesus.

He's the only one worth all that fuss. He's the only one who deserves my praise. He's the only one I want to waste my time on. And I honestly don't think He'd want me screaming myself hoarse over Him the way most fangirls do about their crushes and programs anyway. That mental picture is just a wee bit disturbing.

I'm not saying all those programs and such are not worth watching or evil {though some of them may be, just being honest}. Your conscience can make that call. But you won't ever catch me "fangirling" over them. They are, after all, just SHOWS. A really great screenwriter's manipulation of human emotion plopped into a creative storyline designed just to suck the life out of teenage girls.

 

Ok, that was dramatic. Haha! ;)

Don't kill me, eh?

2) Would you fight to the death someone who bashes one of you favorite characters?

Most likely not. They are entitled to their opinion just as I am to mine. Of course, if they are bashing character and integrity, I would stand up for it. But a fight to the death? Did you see my list of life goals up there. I can't die yet! Hehe....

3) Would you use daggers for subtlety or swords for an all-out "COME AT ME BRO!" battle?

Actually, I would be most likely to do both. Start with that big sword, catch them off guard, and finish it with a dagger. I've read too many Henty books. Plus, I have always been pretty deceitful. It's the one thing I despise about my own character. Yikes. I just owned that?!

4) What do you do when someone tells you that you have pepper in your teeth?

L.O.L. and then go and get it out. :D

5) To you, what's more awesome....climbing trees or writing stories?

MORE awesome? If there had to be a decision, I would say writing. But I LOVE to climb trees, so.....

6) Have you ever secretly wished you were a unicorn?

7) When you drink tea, do you prefer a mug or a bone china cup?

 

 

Ooooh! I love both! Sometimes, like when it's raining, just a mug and a good book or friend is great. But I love taking out my real china set and making a cup of tea and sipping it and watching the sun go down. {When I never have time.}

 

 

8) What's your opinion on Alka-Seltzer?

 

 

I've never had to use it. :P

 

 

9) If you are an Agents of SHIELD fan, or a Marvel fan, or just a superhero fan, which agent/superhero do you think you'd be?

 

 

Well, as aforementioned, I'm not a "fan", per sey, but I do enjoy Marvel very much! Which one do I think I'd be? Good question. I'd love to say I'm like Captain America. But I'm probably much more like Bruce Banner - awkward. And in the way. And out of place. Except, without the temper tantrums. lol

 

 

10) Do you have a lucky number?

 

 

Haha!! Ok, this is silly. I actually do! And it's 13.

 

 

11) WHY do you have a lucky number?!

 

 

:D My logic is this. Whenever anyone asks you to pick a number between 1 and 20, they always select 13 in their head. Because it's "supposed" to be unlucky, right? So who would pick it? But because they "think" no one would pick it, I pick it. And it's usually right. Kinda uncanny, right?!

When strange...only get's stranger...

 1. Favourite character in your work-in-progress?

 

{Merrie. But I also like Ionez. And since they are stand alone characters within one book, I think I can say that..... right? Right?! Oh, good. :D}

 2. Does music influence your writing? What's a song that's inspired you?

 

{YES! I am never NOT listening to music. All day. Most of the night. Right now I am really fond of the Pearl Harbor Soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. I've never seen the movie (someone tell me, is it any good??) but the soundtrack is simply heavenly!!!}

 3. Do you prefer writing in present tense or past tense? Why?

 

{Present. I enjoy the rush of things as they currently happen....}

 4. Name a random fact a book taught you.

 

{Hmmm....random fact? As in, the way The Hunger Games taught me how important a great, powerful backstory is? Because it did. :D}

 5. Favourite foods to snack on while reading/writing.

 

{Haha. Chewy candy. Any kind. Sweet, sticky, and not chocolate. Usually I have a bag of starburst, jellybeans, hot tamales (my favorite!), or gummy worms. ;) I also usually have a sibling sitting next to me.}

 6. Name 3 books you can't wait until are released.

 

{Oh, seriously, Cait!!! Don't kill me...but I really don't keep up with books that come out. I more just...wait until they are out.}

 7. Name a sequel that outshone it's predecessor.

 

{Catching Fire. In fact, I didn't like The Hunger Games hardly at all and it took me six months to pick up Catching Fire. And THEN I was hooked. So, yeah, if THG had been stand alone, I prolly wouldn't have cared for it. But I liked Catching Fire and Mockingjay a LOT.}

 8. Best side-kick/secondary-character you've read this year?

 

{I have read way too few books this year. It has been rushing past and I've probably only downed about 20 books... In those, I would have to say, most were uninspiring... And seriously, it's past 1:00 in the morning and I can't think of any.... :P}

 9. Favourite quote!

 

{Ah, Cait, you know me too well!!! I have WAY too many favorite quotes. I couldn't even begin to select one as a favorite... But I might say this is one of my many favorites:

 

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.

"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat. "We're all mad here." 

 10. Do you have any reading goals for 2013? Are you on track?!

 

{None whatsoever. I have been so busy with getting this monstrous book finished that, truth be told, I have done little reading this year (as I stated above). It will be good to be able to have time to sit down and read a good book again!!}

 11. If you were a superhero would you wear a cape?

 

{It would depend. I might, if the occasion called for it. I like to dress up. But I think sometimes they get in the way and I would far rather be handy than ornamented.}

Jordan's 11 questions:

1. Best book you've ever read?

 

{Aside from the Bible, I would say Mara, Daughter of the Nile, because it has stayed with me as my favorite for over seven years. Such an impacting, beautiful book!!}

2. Do you like reading/writing nonfiction or fiction better? (I think I know most of the answers to this)

 

{Historical fiction!!!!!! Haha. Well, actually, believe it or not, I love to read non-fiction. I tend to suck up all books, no matter the subject matter. ;) My favorite kind of non-fiction are history, political, or spiritual growth books.}

 

3. You're being chased by thousands of bees/ wasps. What do you do?

 

{Yikes. Hopefully NOT die. Probably jump into a pond. And I wouldn't care if it was the filthiest pond under the sun. :P Let me repeat. Yikes.}

4. If you could meet a book character (without having to enter their world) who would it be?

 

{Wow! Only ONE!!! How could I ever choose? I long to meet so many of them. In fact, I want to be friends with oodles of them... But, if I had to pick one... Probably Anne of Green Gables. Because she is just like me. And we'd get along famously. And I'd invite her to sleep in our ornamental pear tree. Because we haven't got any cherry trees to be all silvery in the moonlight.}

 

5. Do you like reading/writing from a male or female perspective more? Why?

 

{Hmmm, that is a tough one. I had actually not given it much thought. It is definitely different writing from a guy's perspective. I find myself going to my Dad a lot and asking him whether *this* is how a guy would say something or whether *this* is something a guy would think... I would say I am probably better at writing from a girl's perspective, simply because I AM a girl and know how we are and think...but that would be the only reason I might like it better.}

6. Loki just showed up at your doorstep asking you to help in his world-domination plots. What do you do? Why?

 

{Take a picture.

 

Post it to facebook.

 

Wait for the whole world of girls to show up at my door.

 

Hand them over to Loki.}

 

7. If you could play one character from your favorite book in a movie who would it be? Why?

 

{Eeeek!! You have to ask all the tough questions! Can I answer the same as last time? Anne, all the way!!! Though Anne of Green Gables in not my favorite book, she is like my twin. But I would totally love to play Mara too, she is not very....un-me. Kind of sad and angry. I'm not. But either one would work fine for me. Just playing in a movie would in itself be delight beyond compare (unless you want to take me skydiving...or tour the word)!!}

 

8. Any 2013 movies your excited about?

 

{Um...YES!!!! The next Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, Thor 2: The Dark World, Catching Fire, and The Desolation of Smaug, to be sure. There are others, but these are the important ones, so to speak. ;)}

9. Name a stand-alone book that you think should have been made a series.

 

{I can't. I think all the books that I think should have been made into a series are and all the books that are stand alone I think should be that way. In fact, I kind of like it when books are just...done. And then, I love it when they go on.... ;)}

10. Do you prefer writing in first, second, or third person? Why?

 

{I have mostly written in third person, dabbled a wee bit in first person, and never in second person (for an entire novel, rather). I think I kind of like writing in first person, because you get more heart and soul into  it. But it's weird, because I sort of prefer to read third person.}

 

And finally

11. How do you sort the books on your bookshelf?

 

{Hahaha....do you even want to know? Well, first, my top shelf is all the hardbacks with really cool covers and that are mostly old. The second shelf is all old books, also hardcover. The third shelf is split in half. One side is also old hardbacks, the other side paperbacks that are nice. The bottom shelf is entirely random...except that they are organized by size and are all books I haven't read or want to read again. Then....I have a whole other shelf of overflow that consists of stacking however many books I can manage into as little space as possible. Plus I have two stacks on my floor, arranged by size so they don't fall... Hehe...I bet you didn't expect that. I am a bit OCD. Ok, a lot. But only about my things. And only about certain of my things. :D}

Noni tagged me this week!!! I haven't done an award in a while so this will be fun!!

Here are the rules:

Questions #1: What famous person would you like to meet?

Someone famous? That I'd like to meet? For the girl that doesn't fangirl, this is a toughy. I could totally imagine meeting famous fictional characters, like Anne of Green Gables or the Queen of England, but a real person? ;) Still, if I must choose someone....

I'd say Julie Andrews. Because I love her voice. And she's the only person I can think of right now. ;)

Questions #2: What's your favorite flower?

Lilacs. Because they are light purple, my favorite color, and they smell delicious. We had five or six bushes at my house in Oregon. They were so beautiful. I miss them quite a bit.



Questions #3: What is your least favorite food?

Liver. I don't have to think about that one very long. I still remember the first time my Mum cooked liver for us. The stench filled the whole house. I don't think any of us liked it. Daddy took it to work for lunch the next day {he's a school teacher} and all his students gagged at it too. :P It's gross.

1) As a child, what was your biggest fear? How did you overcome it, or does it still haunt you?

Perhaps I am weird, but I never really had any fears. Probably the biggest thing that scared me was when 9/11 struck and I was afraid an airplane was going to come crashing through my own roof. But I have a very wise Daddy who told me that God was bigger than my fear and He had a purpose for me. And even if that included being smashed by an airplane, it was ok. Yeah, at first I was like, "whaaa..." And then I got it. I think that is part of why I don't fear things. Because I know God is in control.

 

2) What is the first thing that springs to mind when I say "potato"?

The potato famine that happened in Ireland during the 1800's. Such a terrible, sad time. I read a book about it. Twas awful. I love potato's. And every time I eat one I think about that... Pretty weird? Yeah. But most of my life is linked to history somehow... ;) Besides, that was a lot cooler than the second thing that popped into my mind, which was soup. Eh he...

 

3) Take a trip to Australia, or win a million pounds?

You had to pick Australia, didn't you. But for the record, I would say the million pounds. And use it to go to Australia. {Ha, beat you on that one. ;)} One of my biggest dreams is to travel the world. I don't foresee it happening....but you never know. If I happened to win a million pounds.....

 

4) What was the first book that made you cry?

Cry? Me? Oh, yeah, I do have lacrimal glands... I'm going to admit that I hate it when people see me cry. So I physically weep very rarely. Now my heart....that is a different story. To be honest, the only book that has ever made me cry real tears is the Bible.

 

5) What is your opinion on pigeons?

They are cute and white. For some reason, I always think of The Mask of Zorro when I hear the word pigeon and that makes me sad because the pigeon becomes dinner. Besides, I like doves better.

 

6) Would YOU trust anyone who told you that you were destined to go on a great quest and save the world from destruction?

That would depend entirely on who this person was. A random stranger? You never know. My best friends? If they were at my side, I might just believe it. But I am way too game and conquer the world type. So yeah, I might just do it as a dare...and enjoy it at that...

 

7) If you're leaving home for a long period, what is the one item you ALWAYS take with you?

Believe it or not, but I have only "left home" for a "long period" of time once in the last seven years {not counting the time I moved 2000 miles cause all my stuff came along...well, almost all my stuff. We left my favorite desk behind and I am still sad about that...}. At that point, I did not own pretty much anything of value. So, if I were to imagine leaving home for a long period of time {not too hard to do for the girl who wants to travel the world} I would say two things {I know, I'm being rebellious...}. My laptop and my hairbrush.

 

8) Have you ever made a wish on a shooting star? What for? (Or, what would you wish for, should you spot one?)

Once. And only once. Because I felt utterly ridiculous. It was deep in the heart of Eastern Oregon. I was sunstone hunting with my Grandpa {who was co-owner of a mine} and Daddy. I would have been 11, I think. And I wished to find a really pretty stone {which I did, btw}.

And what would I wish for if I saw one right now? That is a secret. -_* {Hey, did anyone see the meteor shower December 14th? That was the night the Hobbit came out and we drove home at 4:00 am and it was amazing because there were "shooting stars" left and right. I didn't make any wishes though because pretty much most of my dreams had come true. lol...

 

9) Name the first character you ever considered your favourite in a book, film, or TV series.

Really? You want the honest answer?

 

Sheesh, this will be embarrassing.

 

For a book: I am thinking back as far as my mind can go. I started reading at three...really reading. I had many "favorite" characters. But I had this particular series that I loved about a girl who lived during the American Civil War called Felicity...{and then whatever that particular book was about}. There were six of them, and she was a tomboy, loved horses, and had a great imagination. I read those when I was six {I still remember because we were moving from one house to another and were living with my Grandma and Grandpa and they laughed at me for wanting to read my books instead of watch a movie... ;)}.

 

From a film: I am honestly going to have to say Larry the Cucumber from Veggitales. Yep, cute. :P I know. A character that would duel for favorite though would be Cyrus from Storykeepers. My movie watching spectra was very limited when I was a child. Very.

 

TV series: Does Elmo count? JK!! I actually did not watch many or any TV series until I was much older. But one of the first ones I can remember having as a favorite is Ellie from The Beverly Hillbillies. She is fun. And quite a bit like me. ;) {And for the record, I DO NOT like Elmo.}

 

10) Tell us a question you asked that you wished you'd never learned the answer to, but not the answer you received.

Oh dear.... Oh dear.... What if I say there has never been a question I have regretted asking? I like to learn knew things and I like honest answers, even if either or both are painful things. I cannot for the life of me think of something that was unreceived...

And a bonus one: What is the purpose of a rubber duck?

 

To sing adorable songs to, of course! And besides, we all need a buddy in the tub. I had two or three when I was little. They had a grand time racing around my bubble tracks. My favorite ducky always one.

 

 

So there are those. Awesome questions, Charley! Super fun. I like how original and imaginative they were.

In other notes, yesterday was the super bowl! The only day of the year the whole world watches 22 men fight on a field over a brown piece of leather. It was pretty awesome. I used to be into football tons. When we moved from Oregon I lost interest, mostly because I no longer had friends interested or the ability to watch the games. Yesterday we went over to some friends and watched it with them. It was great! And I fulfilled a childhood dream. I had colorful goldfish. Oh yeah!

Ok, so, 11 random facts about me:

 

 

1. I have an insatiable curiosity to know everything. Which I know will never happen, but hey, it's worth a shot.

 

2. People can't scare me. No matter how hard they try, jumping out of dark shadows, jerking random objects in my face, shouting from behind... nah, it won't happen. I've grown up with 4 younger siblings.

 

3. I. HATE . SEAFOOD. That is all.

 

4. My favorite color has been purple as long as I can remember. But not just...purple. My FAVORITE color of purple is a light lilac or lavender. And my second favorite color of purple is a really deep royal purple.

 

5. I really like to dress up.

 

6. I don't like nondescript sentences.

 

7.  TERROR FROM THE SKIES, you've all been tricked. I am an alien. No, really. Because I am a Canadian citizen living in USA, by default, I am an alien. My Daddy's got a piece of paper, all official and all, that says..... Resident Alien. Be warned. This is not a joke.

 

8. My imagination doesn't listen to me and jumps into more trouble than its supposed to, especially when I'm trying to be good.

 

9. One of the only things that irritates me is irritated people. Other than that, I'm good. (Well, not really good. Actually, I'm quite bad. But you guys don't want to know about that, so really...)

 

10. When I was a child, I was a devil. I plotted conspiracies  and carried them out in full force while my unsuspecting mother was in the shower.

 

11. This is the last random fact.

1. If the floor randomly gave way beneath you, would you scream?

 

As I said before, I don't really get scared by many things. I would probably have this odd question lingering in my mind as I fell about where I was going and if it would take me to Wonderland. (I really wish it would...)

 

2. Why are people obsessed with randomness?

 

Because random is random and randomly awesome and nobody ever said random was strange so random is why random is liked.

 

3. Are you an arty person, or academic?

 

Hmmmm.... both? Really, I prefer artsy, but according to my finished GPA....I'm academic too. :P

 

4. If your friends jumped off a cliff, would your first instinct be "Hey, look! That's my friend!" Or "Hey, look! That's my friend!" (You can differentiate for yourself.)

 

"Hey, look!" Screaming, pointing wildly and waving my arms to all bystanders who might care to pay attention. "That's my friend!" And I'm so excited, I want to join her, and she is awesome. (I should clarify, I picture the sea at the bottom of this cliff... so, yeah, jumping would just be pure bliss.)

 

4. Would you prefer to be short of tall?

 

SHORT!!! Oh, wait, I kinda already am!!

I'm not a midget, don't get me wrong, but on the taller side of things, all of my friends are taller than me. And I don't mind! As far as short goes, I think it would be fun to be a halfling, don't you!! (Actually, I really am. My mother's maiden name was Ling... So, that makes me a half Ling. :D I'm just a little happy about that.)

 

5. Have you ever experienced hail?

 

YES! More in Oregon than here in Missouri. We had hail quite often there. If it was tiny, we'd go outside and play in it as little kids. It was fun pretending it was diamonds falling from the sky.

 

6. What is the strangest thing you've ever done? (Includes instances of fighting a horse with a frying pan.)

 

What makes one thing stranger than another? Because in my life...

7. Do fish have feelings?

 

You bet. I used to own a tank of them, and if I didn't feed them... they gave me "the look". (Which was turn, face the room, wiggle their tails back and forth, and blink big huge eyes at me that said, "Feed me.")

 

8. When was the last time you surprised someone?

 

Yesterday. I got Brisa coming out of the wash room. Oh ho, she is fun to scare!!!!

 

9. What was the last good book you read?

 

Eragon. Technically, I'm still in the middle of it, but you know, that counts.

 

10. If someone gave you a million dollars, what would you spend it on first? (Be honest.)

 

Practical me or crazy me? Practical me or crazy me?

Practical me would pay off my braces and business. Flat and done. Crazy me would go travel the world.

 

11. If the internet had a global breakdown, how severe would your mental breakdown be?

From the land of Unknown

Life spirals out of control sometimes. It seems one moment, I drag each day out of the depths, trying to create some sort of excitement that will fill my hours. Then the next, I can't catch up, no matter how frantically I run around. I don't think the analogy of a chicken with its head cut off fits. Perhaps a cow? Or an elephant? That might suit better.

Anyway, I have had one of those elephant with its head cut off weeks. Between running my pups to the vet, work, weddings, birthdays, and day to day life, I seem to have found exactly no time for blogging. I am glad to be back.

Silver and Tizona are both growing at a rate which astonishes me.

Silver is very playful, but she LOVES to come sit in my lap.

Tizona is a little doll. I love her sooooo much!

 I had a lot of fun fiddling with the camera yesterday. I was trying out the scope and the focus.

Friday we had tons of fun hanging out with this beautiful girl. She's the one with LONG blonde hair.

AND ~ we straightened my hair!!! The first time it has been straightened that it actually looked good!!!! (We were color coordinated on purpose.)

Thursday, the 9th, was my sister Brisa's 15th birthday. (She's the one with brown hair.) We spent all day having a Lord of the Rings marathon. Well, Abrienne (curly blonde hair), did. We (Brisa and I) ended up going up stairs to my room in the middle of the second one and working on our book together. She was done watching movies, and since it was her birthday, I asked what she wanted to do. And that was it. She is such a special, wonderful, IRREPLACEABLE sister.

Saturday were the weddings of not one, but two different friends of mine!!! Actually, a third friend of mine was married that day too, but she lives in Oregon... :(

My friend Stephanie's wedding had a brilliant wedding idea that I would so love to do at my wedding. They bought a whole bunch of really cool old crystal cups and had root beer floats (Mmmm, my favorite soda). And you got to take home the cup. So you will always remember the wedding. I LOVE that idea! Here is the cup I got to take home. Isn't it pretty! I saw it from a distance and knew, THAT cup was MINE. LOL!

And that evening I had a surprise birthday party to go to as well! It was a fantastic day and I loved every bit of it!!!! My friend Alli was so surprised her jaw was dropped open forever!!

At the birthday party, we played volleyball. That was the greatest. Especially since we played... in the dark.

And Friday, I relaxed my hair again!!!! It is sooo wonderful (that's how we were able to straighten it). Here are some pics of the new due!!!

It is more of a gentle wave now instead of a kinky curl.

Anyway, my life has only kind of slowed down. I have to go to work today. Tomorrow is the first day of puppy training! I am on my way to being a certified dog trainer!!!!!!!!!! I have always loved animals, since I was the very littlest I could be (duh). And I am soooo glad God has enabled them to be a part of my life forever (especially since I have finally resolved with myself that I cannot own a farm... sigh...)

The rest of my family has started school this week. It is so strange watching them, knowing that for 13 years I followed the same course... (Yes, 13, not 12... I was unlucky. Or lucky, depending on how you look at it, lol!) Anyway, they've been going at it.

Oh, one more thing I did this last week was finish a drawing I have been working on!!!

My first blog post... was an introduction about me!!! I think it was pretty thorough too!

2. Have you ever walked into a glass door? (Be honest.)

Actually.... yes. In fact, I ran into it. No more said.

3. If you could do anything you wanted (expense aside) what would you do?

Travel the world; get married in a meadow, in front of a green forest (that had nice neat trees, no underbrush :P), with an ambling silver creek nearby that somewhere along the way created a stunning waterfall, and lots of flowers everywhere; write over a hundred books; never stop doing anything I wanted (expense aside); give God the glory for everything I was able to do; oh wait, was I only supposed to put one thing? You should have told me!

4. Lime green or fluoro pink?

Definitely lime green. I don't hate pink. But I like green better.

5. If you could be bald or have webbed feet, which one would you choose?

Oh, so the webbed feet! Because then I could swim in the Olympics and would probably win too! And it would just be so much fun. Besides, people don't stare at your feet. They would so stare at a girl with a bald head.

We have finally gotten some rain! Hurrah!!! Now everything is muddy. Very muddy. But I just thank God for the rain. We needed it so badly.

I have been reading a lot of books lately. A friend of mine lent me Passion and Purity by Elisabeth Elliot a while back and I have GREATLY enjoyed reading it. And I just finished Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, a book about prayer. It will change your life. Mommy gave me Not Even A Hint by Joshua Harris last night. I have read the first few chapter already. It's intense. I have read several Joshua Harris books before, and they are always really good. I would recommend them all. Just be forewarned. He does not pretend to scoot around the issues. He addresses them straight on. No question.

I've been reading in 1 Timothy this weekend and of course, the specific verse that always pops out to me right now (because I am young), is "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." It is so encouraging and uplifting!!! We all need those verses. :D

Well, I think this is insanely long and so I will close for now. My apologies to all of you. I did not mean to lie when I said I would post on Wednesday of last week... My life just kind of interfered. So forgive me? And I will try (try) to stay on top of it again. And also my apologies for not commenting on all recent posts, for the same reason. Again, I will try to go back through and read them all! I love looking through them so much!!!
